Looking for information on a (french?) boat

Dear all,

since my French is only of a sufficient level to order some nice red wine, I'm writing this in English. Hopefully you will forgive me.

I'm about to buy this boat:
www.botentekoop.nl[...]80.html

The owner doesn't know who has designed or build this boat. There are no marks on the boat whatsoever. I've posted the boat on several international forums and no one seems to recognize this boat. Someone pointed out to me it might be a French design, that's why I'm posting it here as well.

Any information on this boat is more the welcome!

merci bien pour votre aide!

Pieter

Bateau français ? I don't know it, maybe you could go to
www.minicroiseur.fr[...]aux.php

You will find pictures (and descriptions, but maybe this is useless to you) of most boats under 7.5 m.

Hi Pieter
Welcome to Héo.

I wonder if this boat is not a Squib 19

Kind regards

thanks
Thank you for your tips. I've looked at the pictures of the Squib 19. It has some similarities, but It definitely isn't one. My boat sleeps two, and the back of the boot is 'negative'.

The design of the side (with a straight part along the cockpit) is surprising; I don't "feel" a French designer.

I had a lot of looks!
but did not find anything. I think it may be a somewhat northern design; but its hull reminds one of tideless seas; I found one boat with the same "broken side" (Sirocco, maybe?), but 15 feet, and a swing keel.

Maybe, just maybe, Canadian? A boat designed for the Lakes?

The only thing I can say with certainty is "c'est la bouteille à l'encre", and "je donne ma langue au chat" (meaning: too, too difficult, count me out!), sorry!!!

T'as raison !

Kaj
he thought it was a "javelot" but it isn't.

The Javelot is smaller and doesn't have the same rudder

Cependant
Alors ?
